List of compatibility

DENEB

DENEB was designed with all popular Zorro bus systems available on the market.
Current firmware does support the following bus systems: Up to now only a few quirks are known when operating the DENEB with non-original bus boards.
Problems may occur when operating the DENEB in bus boards offering more then the original five Zorro III slots. In this case Buster DMA control signals may be modified by the bus board, or DMA is only supported in five of the seven Zorro III slots. Operation in PIO mode should be possible in any slot.
In rare cases problems were reported when operating the DENEB in a Mediator 4000Di setup. We could not track this problem down up to now; in some cases changing the order of Zorro cards within the bus board may help.

HIGHWAY

The HIGHWAY has been developped according to the Zorro II CATS documents from Dave Haynie. Therefore a bus system compatible to this standard is needed for operation of the HIGHWAY.
Unfortunately, not all busboards on the market work according to this standard. Moreover depending on the busboard revision different kind of IC technologies have been used. Also the CPU card used in these systems is affecting timing on the bus.

We tried to check compatibiliy of the HIGHWAY card on as many busboards as possible. Results are given in two tables, one showing the busboard and CPU card, the other the expansion cards which were in the systems.

Comment Detailed explanation
* Problems can occur when an activated ioblix ethernet module is present in the system. Zorro board jumper settings should be checked for correct setting before installing the HIGHWAY.
** This is a "passive" buasboard only extending the original Amiga 4000 Zorro bus.
Unfortunately it is designed only as a double-sided PCB, not as a multi-layer one (with dedicated ground and power layers) as requested in the Zorro III spec.
Our test sample showed up with random data errors, and operating the CyberVision 64 lead to errors in the graphic display.

SUBWAY

The SUBWAY has been especially designed for the original Amiga 1200 clockport. Nevertheless the bus interface is able to operate also on other clockports, like those found on several Zorro boards.

We can not guarantee that the SUBWAY will work on all these Zorro cards. We can only comment on clockports we could check in our laboratory. We will not comment on clockports we could not check ourselves.

For Amiga computers with Zorro bus using the SUBWAY on a Zorro card based clockport is not recommended. You should only choose this option if absolutely no Zorro connector is free anymore.
The far better alternative is using the HIGHWAY Zorro board, which has been especially designed for the needs of Zorro based Amiga computers.

For easy identification of cards the following table contains "manufacturer ID" (MID) and "product ID" (PID) as output by tools like ShowConfig or ListExp. Moreover you will find small pictures of boards used for checks.

If your card is not listed here, then it has not been tested up to now.
Please feel free to contact us.
We try to test SUBWAY on as many boards as possible, but we can not guarantee to test all available Zorro clockport solutions.
